August 2011 Competition 2 – Karts Only – This Competition takes place on Rainbow Road. The objective is the same as that of the November 2009 2nd Competition and the December 2010 1st Competition.  |

Ah yes, I remember that one. Some have said that this is meant to reference Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Road (there were Chain Chomps on that version).
But anyway, I'd best get started.

I can barely get past the first Chomp without losing all my Mushrooms. This may be harder than I thought.  |

The trick, I've found, is to drift early and cut the corner or to simply use the boost ramp. My new best is Baby Peach + Concerto = 2:57:247 (I think the last 3 numbers are right, not sure.) I also suck at karts.  I was telling my friend about this. Me: There's a new tournament; you have to Time Trial Rainbow Road while there are Chain Chomps there. Friend: Cool! Me: Oh, and it's karts only. Friend: ...Oh. |

My best is something like 2:53 with Funky Kong/Flame Flyer, after LOTS of hard work. |
