I was just playing through Mushroom Gorge and I did the simple shortcut at the beginning. However, sometimes I tricked on the first mushroom pad and it sent me past the second one, into the wall and then let me levitate over the wall for about a second.
Has this ever happened to you?

I was doing the shortcut at 1:07 but I tricked of the first mushroom pad and it sent me flying past the second and onto the bridge.
